Play on Where Rockies Onlin

It’s the season of holiday events and it seems there's something going on almost every evening of the week! With so many events to choose from, do you know what you want to attend this year? Here are some upcoming events that we’re looking forward to!

In Search of Christmas Spirit

This annual tradition is a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit. This event tells a Christmas story from the wildlife of Banff National Park. It all takes place in the Cascades of Time Gardens where large-scale, illuminated animal figures tell the story with special lighting, sound, and other effects. This family-friendly adventure is the perfect place to get outside, enjoy some mountain air, and get into the holiday spirit. It’s a free event, but tickets are required.

Christmas at The Malcolm

The Malcolm always goes all out for the holidays, and this year is no exception! Stop by to see the Festival of Trees, a holiday forest of Christmas trees decorated by businesses and non-profits in the community. It's free, and it's a great way to connect with the community. Other events at The Malcolm include High Tea, visits with Santa, Community Movie Lounge, and Christmas markets. It’s a wonderful way to get into the spirit of the season.

Ski with Santa

Santa loves the slopes! Every year, he can be found skiing in the Canadian Rockies. Check out his dates at Marmot Basin in Jasper, Banff Sunshine Village, and Lake Louise Ski Resort. Make sure to stop and get your photo – but only if you’re on the nice list!

Santa can also be spotted around town at numerous events, so you never know when you might run into the big guy this holiday season.

Stoney Christmas

This holiday tradition takes place at artsPlace in Canmore. It’s a reimagined Christmas tale from Stoney Nakoda’s multi-generational Smalleyes family. It tells a story of joy with traditional Indigenous dance, song and storytelling. This unique Christmas experience is something you won’t want to miss!

There’s hot chocolate and sweet treats and even a visit from Santa himself. This event is free! Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable donation for the Banff Food Bank.
