Banff has Some New Moxy on Where Rockies

Eat on Where Rockies Onlin Stay on Where Rockies Onlin

There’s something new coming to Banff, and it’s bringing some excitement to the classic mountain town. Moxy Banff is a new hotel, slated to open early 2024, that brings a cool, groovy vibe to an otherwise rustic ski town. We had a sneak peak into what’s coming with this fun new hotel, and we can’t wait for it to open so we can experience this new vacation spot for ourselves!

“Moxy is about celebrating social spaces,” says Sudeep Sandhu, General Manager, Moxy Banff. “This is going to be one of the best social spaces in Banff.”

This new hospitality experience is designed to turn a traditional vacation into a fun social outing. The bar is the heart of this new concept hotel, and guests are greeted with a complementary welcome cocktail as they check into their rooms. The large central bar is surrounded by a comfortable retro lounge for sociable drinks, and a food truck will serve all-day fare out of a vintage 1966 VW bus.

The authentic bus, even in the construction zone, adds to the overall feel of the place.

The vibe is instantaneously comfortable and connecting. It’s like a giant living room. The bar opens up to the heated courtyard patio, which features a fireplace, hot tub, and heated swimming pool for further relaxation. There are regular events in the works once the bar and lounge are open, as well as games for people to play while hanging out in this space.

Even under construction, this place is bringing a new vibe that breaks the mould of a “traditional” mountain vacation

Even though Moxy encourages people to spend time outside of their rooms mingling with others, the rooms themselves feature unique layouts, distinct styling, everything you need in a hotel room, with nothing you don’t. They’re designed to maximize space, which maximizes the bang-for-your-buck. There are several room layouts, including suites that feature bunk beds for young ones (or pile all your ski buddies into one room and live like a kid-at-heart!) as well as suites with skylights and king-sized beds overlooking the iconic mountain views that make Banff such a popular destination.

Travel with the whole family, or just your family of friends, and chill out in these sweet bunk beds

The Moxy brand started in 2014 in Milan and the retro vibe and social experience quickly spread throughout Europe. Moxy Banff is the first of its kind in Western Canada, and this fresh take on a mountain vacation is ready to take the town by storm.

Moxy Banff is expected to open in winter, 2024. We can’t wait to try out this new hospitality experience! Will we see you there?
