The annual celebration Jasper in January is in full swing and we couldn’t be more excited for this year’s events.

 

At the Hill

Marmot Basin has a full roster of fun activities for Jasper in January. Starting with discount lift tickets and discounts in their retail stores. Stay tuned for a scavenger hunt, après treats with live music, ski with Jasper the bear, s’mores at mid mountain, DJs, and so much more.

Special events include avalanche awareness days, demo days, and “Never Ever Day” for those who have never skied before. Check out their Retro Day on January 25 for DJs, Stocking Slalom Smash, and the anticipated Retro Party. Marmot also has an entry in the Poutine Showdown, one of the more delicious events happing during the festival.

Around Town

The fun doesn’t stop when you get back to town. Get outside and enjoy winter with events like skating with Jasper the bear, sleigh rides, snowshoe tours, live music, and street party with fireworks to close out the event.

Take in the Festival of Galaxies, the annual Pond Hockey Tournament, or the Jasper Curling Club Hot Shots Competition. Try a guided photo tour to capture all the best moments of this winter festival. Find one of the many après specials around town and warm up after your adventures with good food, good drink, and plenty of stories. Get hands on with your food with events like Pull Your Own Espresso Shot, Winemaker’s Dinner, Whisky Wine & Hops, and others. You’ll get a taste for the season in no time.

The Poutine Showdown is taking place all around town and it’s up to you to vote for Jasper’s Top Poutine. Restaurants will create their unique, tastiest, or even craziest poutine and your tastebuds and sense of adventure will help determine who creates the ultimate version of Canada’s signature dish.
