The Food

Whether you’re looking for breakfast, brunch, soup, a sandwich, or yummy dessert, the fantastic bakers make everything from scratch. The carrot cake is legendary, and the cheesecake is just like Grandma used to make. The massive cinnamon buns bring people back time and time again. If you’re just passing through, there are also many options for road snacks: grab a granola bar, handheld, craft drink, or something else to put in your pack. You’ll wish you brought more!
The Music
The Old Grind is also an excellent location for local live music. The Open Mic Night is on the 13th season, and it’s become a tradition in town. It’s a great place for local musicians to get out and show their craft to the world. It’s a safe place for first timers to try their chops in front of an audience, and there are also seasoned musicians looking to put on a show. Some people have been playing here for a long time, and they love to come back again and again to this popular event. It’s a great place to sit back with a cocktail or glass of wine and enjoy the show. Open Mic Nights run the first Friday of every month from October to June, so make sure to stop by if you’re in the area and looking for a good time.
The Art
The Old Grind has been selling local art since 2017. Over the years, the collection has grown to showcase the variety of artistic talent in this small, foothills town. Most of the artists are local, and there are about 30 artists currently showcasing their work in the coffee house right now. Many of the artists depict the local community and mountain lifestyle, from wildlife to landscape and everything in between. The collection showcases potters, fibre artists, photographers, authors, handmade jewellery, and more. It’s the perfect accompaniment to the delicious food and snacks.
